Is It Time to Redesign?

The ugly truth is that web design is an extremely stressful process, which required you to give all of your attention when it comes to detail on a number of levels.  Though you’ve probably completed many projects, trends and user behaviour changes so drastically that you’ll be forced to do a website redesign.  Here are a few things you can look for if you’re wondering whether or not it’s time to get a new look for your business or brand:

  • Search engine rankings which aren’t very impressive
  • A site which isn’t optimized for mobile use
  • A bounce rate going straight through the roof and low time on your site

Google Analytics will assist you in indicating the people who are not actually spending time on your website.  You might even want to re-evaluate the quality of your descriptions as well as your wording.

  • You’re not proud of the appearance of your site

If your website is looking like it was created 20 years ago and you’re finding yourself apologizing to people for how it looks then do yourself a favour – redesign!  Don’t doubt that your company will be judged according to your website, so ensure that you keep up with the latest design trends.

  • Things are getting a little tricky when it comes to updating your site

There should be no reason that your website should be difficult to update in the day and age.  Have a user-friendly CMS setup and then anyone in your office will be able to update it when necessary.

  • But now it’s getting a bit too complex

There should be clear CTAs on each of the pages on your website, as well as clear indications of where you can access certain locations (homepage etc.).  keep in mind that if it’s not easy to navigate and for consumers to make their way through your site, chances are that you’ll be missing out on sales and potential conversions.

  • Your content isn’t fresh and trending

If 3 months have gone by without there being any new posts added to your website or the content which is live doesn’t really reflect what your business is all about, then it’s time to set a redesign in motion.  You could even plan ahead and ensure that every 2-3 years you update your entire site, content and all.

  • The competition isn’t what it used to be

Look at all that your competitor has to offer and make sure that you have it too or something better.

  • Awareness of social media

By adding links to your webpages, visitors will know that they can find you on various social platforms.  This will make it easy for customers to both find and engage with you and your brand!
